Value of 140 t has been reached by testing support ESP insulator made in EPL without any destruction of the insulator. This value coresponds with the weight of 5-6 full loaded traks. Such value did not expect the most demanding customers. Test has been proceeded in Prague laboratory Klokner Institute Praha. Read more about Isulators for electrostatic precipitators (ESP).

We have tested: Insulator for electrostatic precipitator

Ceramic insulators for Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) cylindrical or conical designed are used as a supporting part of HV electrical separator. Main mechanical influances are mainly pressure forces – max. pressure load is 8 t / 1 insulator (verified by the independent laboratory Klokner Institute Praha). By testing EPL support ESP insulators at a Klokner Institute Praha the value of 140 t has been reached without any destruction of the insulator.
Insulators by it operating conditions separate flue gas volumes from other conditions. The pressure differences between the inner/outer pressure is up to 2 kPa usually, rarely up to 15 kPa at some technologies. The inner operating temperature at the insulator of 250°C, extremly 450°C then such as chemical flue gas influences exists to a ceramic porcelain insulators at different industrial technologies (power plants, cement plants, smelting plants, glass, chemical industries etc.).
There is no possibility to avoid flue gas and dust settings absolutely by a technical point of view, this is just by ESP technologies decreased.
Chemical structures of flue dust by its physical and chemical quality are differently. The specific electrical resistence of flue dust is an important value for the insulator, measured of 1x104 up to 1x1011 ohm.m usually. It is neccessary to protect the inner surface of insulator against dirts sediments as well, mainly by air-blow.
It is also neccessary to preheat the (dry) insulator by a warm air before its operating at flue gasses conditions that contain a high volume of sulfur and humidity.
The insulator is constructed at the upper box of ESP technology mainly. Warm flue gas operate to the bottom part of insulator with its temperature of 50 - 100°C than.
A substantive characteristic of ESP equipment is to resist against electrical flashovers, mainly to at the inner surface of insulator.
